PhD Centre in Commerce with Specialization in Business Economics

A new milestone in the history of Mulund College of Commerce is PhD centre in commerce with specialization in Business Economics.

The college has increased its faculty strength recently. An array of young and dynamic teachers were recruited in December 2013 by duly following procedures to join the existing quality faculty.

The Research centre is created to facilitate the promotion of research culture in the institution among the young and vibrant faculty. The College Library has accumulated enviable collection of books in the Subject of Commerce, Management and Economics over the past four decades.

In addition, adapting to the digital era, the library is suitably equipped with an access to Ebooks, E Journals and Others. This has enabled the college faculties to achieve academic advancement in their chosen field. Towards this direction the College has applied to the University of Mumbai to start a PhD centre in Commerce with Specialization in Subject of Business Economics.

A Committee to assess the Research climate has visited the college in April 2014. It was impressed by the infrastructure of the College and the Research Journals and books available in the Library.

The permission from the University to start the PhD degree course in Commerce from the Year 2014 -15 is obtained. A lot is needed to enhance research activities in new thrust areas in the years to come.
